HEY THERE!

hi there! welcome to my lil oddballz planet, i’m so happy you’re here! my name is jordan and i am a self taught painter from the tampa bay area. i’ve been creating since i was old enough to hold a brush, and art is where i feel most myself. my goal is to share that feeling of acceptance and place of belonging with all of you!
i wanted to introduce oddballz to all of you, so it may be easier to understand what exactly were doing here. though it is much as it sounds, apace for the weird to come together; what started out as an obvious name for a very weird project has grown into a piece of who I am as a person. an idea that shares more of me than any other. a level through which I have learned so much and lost so little it may just be the destiny my soul was imbued to find. it is my brainchild and my baby all in one!
one of my hobbies growing up was not one of my own choosing, but I loved it all the same. billiards was to my family— a monopoly evening or a christmas story marathon. a thing that brought us all together more often than anything else could. and you can imagine right there how much that means as a stand-alone. so it only felt right when i incorporated those elements into my brainchild. while pondering what kind of brand i wanted to reinforce, the words “weird” and “unlike any other” made their appearances more than once. and with those two lil ideas, oddballz was born.
once i had given myself a general direction in which to follow my dream, I pondered what exactly it was about billiards that sucked me in so drastically. surely the consistency of the table sets and the primary colors dancing across the green were inspiring. but it was the brush up with numerology that truly brought it to life. as a firm believer in the astronomical impact of the universe on our little lives + the karmic energy that keeps our souls afoot, I believed it to be kizmet. it was the numbers that solidified what I already knew; this project would - and still is - changing my life every single day.
the next feat was to design something that would incorporate all of this meaning into one tiny design. I contacted a dear friend of mine and we got to work on mocking up some logos. the billiard ball was the obvious winner for many reasons, not just its aesthetic purposes. i loved the idea of the ball resembling a planet, a place of being. this was the best piece for me to symbolize the kind of feel i was trying to achieve. and so, our little logo was born, solidifying this odd planet as here to stay. the only problem was, which ball would be featured?
8 is a symbol of balance -- you can see it in its symmetrical shape. it is said that for every blessing it receives, it puts one back out to the universe. when things are balanced, they feel stable, controlled, and supported. these ideas were fundamental in creating a work environment best for myself and my business. at oddballz, we are all about collaboration and total success for everyone on the team. in a spiritual sense, the number 8 is all about giving back. It realizes that its successes are not its alone and will intentionally recognize and appreciate any help it has received. It balances achievement with gratitude, which can then be rebalanced with more achievement -- it's a cycle of success that the 8 is continuously manifesting.
i’ve done my best to get across the idea that every piece made under my care has been painstakingly looked after from start to finish, and that includes the energy. all pieces go out with the energy we hope to share with all of you, one that mirrors success and balance. I hope that when you add these pieces to your own environment, you can feel and receive as much love as is put into them. i hope you can find a bit of solace in this corner of the internet, and i thank you a million just for being here!
xx Jordan
